An MOU exchanged between ORDI and VIT, Vellore at the 7th National DNA Day of VIT.

On the occasion of 7th DNA Day of VIT, 14th March 2020 by Department of Biomedical Sciences, Our Founder Director, Mr. Prasanna Shirol was invited to inaugurate the event as the Chief Guest . Mr. Prasanna addressed the gathering of students on the importance of awareness and better policy on Rare Diseases.

The honorable Chancellor of VIT, Vellore, Dr. G. Viswanathan was glad that  Organization  for Rare  Diseases  has taken this  initiative on a  very  important  health issue:  Rare  Diseases.
He stated that State as well as Central Government should focus more on major health issues  like the Rare  Genetic Diseases.  He also felt that in future  the patients  of  Rare  Diseases  need not  depend on Foreign countries  for treatment  and healthcare  resources.  Dr. Viswanathan quoted to the students, “No patient  should be left out  due to  lack  of  treatment  and I  dream of  such a  country  which only  students  like you can create.”
ORDI  also signed an MoU   with VIT  to  initiate Research,  Awareness  and Education in Rare Disease sector.  The DNA Day event was spearheaded by Dr. Radha Saraswathy.  The event was  was graced by Dr. V. Pragasam, Dean, School of Biomedical Sciences,  Dr. Sabina,
; guest of honors – Dr. Wilner Martinez-Lopez, Uruguay and Mrs. Swapna Roopesh,ORDI.
