Dr. Ishwar Verma
Dr. Ishwar Verma completed his medical undergraduate degree in Amritsar Medical College and went on receive training in pediatrics and genetics training in England. After becoming a member of the London College of Physicians, he joined the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 1967 and became Professor of Pediatrics and Head of the Genetics Unit. Dr. Verma received his genetics training from various places, including the University of Zurich, Boston Massachusetts General Hospital, and National Institutes of Health in USA.
Dr. Verma currently heads the Department of Genetics Medicine at the Sri Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He is interested in topics such as fetal medicine, reproductive genetics, genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis. He has worked on the health problems of Indian tribal communities and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Journal of Pediatrics.
Dr. Patnam R.Krishnaswamy
Dr. Patnam R.Krishnaswamy is an eminent biochemist, clinical chemist and overall a vastly experienced Clinical Laboratory Sciences peer, both in active services and research, and institution building with long experience of administration in India. He has accomplished over four decades several achievements and new innovations in development and introduction of tests for complications in diabetes (HbA1c), tumor markers, hemoglobinopathies ,infectious diseases, and immunology.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, having obtained his Doctor of Sciences degree at this famous institution, he had several associations in the United States for basic research at Tufts University Medical School, and subsequently at Cornell University Medical School, and La Jolla Cancer research Foundation (later Burnham-Sanford Institute). His classic contributions to the mechanistic enzymology of glutamine, metabolism of glutathione, 5-oxoproline are widely quoted and some of these have found to be of significance to clinical
